SW Solution Architect / Team Lead – Covidence Group

Based in Aarhus – Denmark/International team

About Covidence Group

Covidence Group develops advanced audio, video, and tracking technologies for selected government agencies and special units worldwide. Our solutions are used in mission-critical operations where discretion, precision, and reliability are essential.

We operate in a high-technology environment driven by innovation, security, and engineering excellence. Our software and hardware platforms are tightly integrated and designed to perform where failure is not an option.

The role

We are looking for a SW Solutions Architect/Team Lead to strengthen the technical foundation of our software platform and lead an international development team. This is a hybrid “playing coach” role — you will both define architecture and direction for our systems and actively contribute to the codebase across backend, frontend, and mobile development.

You will lead a team of six developers, act as Scrum Master, and play a key role in shaping how our software evolves across PC, server, and mobile platforms.

You will work closely with the CTO and cross-functional teams in hardware, product, and QA to ensure we deliver secure, stable, and well-structured end-to-end solutions.

What you’ll do

  • Lead an international development team of six engineers, providing direction, structure, and momentum, and act as a hands-on software architect and developer (“playing coach”)
  • Drive the agile setup as Scrum Master, ensuring transparency, alignment, and predictable delivery
  • Own and evolve the software architecture across desktop, server, and mobile systems
  • Define standards for scalability, stability, security, and maintainability
  • Develop backend, frontend, and mobile solutions for mission-critical environments
  • Design robust server- and network-based architectures
  • Ensure secure and reliable integration with hardware platforms
  • Collaborate closely with CTO, hardware, product, and QA teams
  • Contribute to design reviews and technical decision-making

You’re the right person if you have

  • A solid technical background (software engineering, computer science, or equivalent)
  • Experience as Software Architect, Team Lead, Scrum Master, or Product Owner
  • Strong ability to translate complex requirements into clear system design
  • Experience driving agile development practices (Scrum, backlog management, iterative delivery)
  • Ability to bring structure, clarity, and predictability into a development organisation
  • Experience improving engineering processes and raising technical discipline
  • Strong proactive mindset and ability to maintain momentum in fast-moving environments
  • Passion for building robust and intuitive software systems
  • Understanding of security, reliability, and quality in mission-critical software

You’ll stand out if you also have

  • Experience with frontend development and strong opinions on UI/UX
  • Experience with JavaScript (Svelte), C#, ASP.NET, or similar technologies
  • Experience with microservice architectures and server-side systems
  • Experience with networked applications and distributed systems
  • Background in defence, security, surveillance, or related industries
  • Experience leading technical transformation or organisational change
  • Strong interest in building scalable software platforms end-to-end

Why this is a great role

  • High-impact role with significant influence on architecture and team direction
  • Opportunity to combine leadership with hands-on engineering
  • Work in a highly specialized and international technology environment
  • Close collaboration with experienced engineers across software and hardware
  • Strong focus on trust, ownership, and technical excellence
  • Opportunity to shape both technology and development culture

This is a full-time position based in Aarhus – Denmark, where you will act as Team Lead for a distributed software R&D team with colleagues in both Denmark and Ireland.

Your primary workplace will be the Danish office, but you will also spend time with the team in Ireland to ensure close collaboration, alignment, and team cohesion. Occasional international travel is expected.
